I wish to say that because of your website, I have been able to locate and begin what I can
honestly say is a strong bond of communication with two confined individuals from my state
(Colorado).
I think that my decision to use this site to reach out to those that are confined and in need
of support and friendship has been the best thing I could have done. And if not for this site,
would not have been possible.
I can say that the two I have found to write are very real and sincere. They do not fit the
image that a lot of people make in their mind of what a prisoner is. Yes, mistakes were
made and bad choices prevailed. But in the end, they admit to that fault and realize what
they did wrong. That my friends, is the first step to recovery and making sure that a lesson
was learned.
Whats more, is that through writing, such a bond is being formed with one of the two that I
write with, that it could lead to more once he is released.
They are very genuine guys.
The two that I write to are real consistent with writing back. We have not missed a week
where we have sent/received letters to each other. One has been so touched by my writing
to him, that he asked to be removed from the listings because of the bond we are building,
as he wants to dedicate his time to writing to me only.
And while most would think that there is an unneeded risk to writing someone that is
confined because they will beg for money and stuff, that has never once happened. They
do not ask for anything but an open heart and understanding.
More people should take the chance to open their minds and hearts, to put out the labels
and misconceptions. "Prisoners" are human too. And if one can, just for a minute, think how
you would feel if you were in there with no one to care about you and talk to you? That is
why I write, and reachout to them.

me a space to find someone to reach out to and give my time to through words.
